Who we are
Vesta Drive ("we", "us") is the developer and publisher of Pallas (working title), "the game". This policy covers the game and this website. You can reach us at [email protected].
The short version
- You sign in to the game with an Epic Games account. The game receives your account ID, display name, friends list, and online status, and we use them only to sign you in and to let you play with friends.
- We do not sell your information. The game has no advertising and no analytics.
- The game sends us a problem report when you choose to send one, and in one case described below, after it has failed to close properly twice in a row.
- Your saved game stays on your own computer unless it goes with a problem report.
Information the game uses
Your account
You sign in to the game with an Epic Games account. When you sign in, the game receives:
- Basic profile: your account ID and display name. We use these to identify you in the game and to show your name to the people you play with.
- Friends list: so you can find and join friends who also play.
- Online status: so friends can see whether you are in the game.
The game never receives your account password or your payment details.
Online play
To connect you with the people you play with, the game sends your account ID, your display name, and the technical details of the session you host or join, such as your network address, through Epic Online Services. Other players in your session see your display name.
Problem reports
The game has a Report a Problem form. When you send it, we receive:
- What you typed in the form.
- A screenshot of the game, unless you untick it.
- The game's log files, and its crash files if there are any. These can include your Windows user name where it appears in a folder path, the network addresses of sessions you joined, and the account IDs and display names of the people you played with.
- The saved game you are playing, and the game's settings file.
- Your account ID and display name, the build of the game, and where you were in it.
- Your computer's operating system, processor, memory, graphics card, and graphics driver.
If the game did not close properly the last time you played, it asks at the next start whether you want to send a report. If that happens twice in a row, the game sends one report by itself, without a screenshot, because a game that fails before it reaches its menu could never ask.
Our report server sees the IP address a report comes from, and uses it to limit how many reports one computer can send. We use problem reports only to find and fix problems in the game.
Saved games and settings
Your saved game and settings are stored on your own computer. We receive a copy only when one goes with a problem report.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, such as a description of a problem, a screenshot, or a log file. We use this to reply and to fix the game.
This website
This website is a set of plain pages. It sets no cookies and has no tracking or analytics scripts. The company that hosts the website may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the time of a visit, to keep the site running and secure.
How we use information
- To sign you in and run the game's online features.
- To answer support requests.
- To find and fix problems in the game.
- To keep the game and its players safe, and to meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Information is shared only with:
- Epic Online Services, which the game uses for sign-in and online play. The game sends it what is needed to sign you in and to host, find, and join sessions.
- Other players in your session, who see your display name.
- Service providers that host this website and our email, and that store and track the problem reports we receive.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Other companies' services
This policy describes only what Vesta Drive does with information. For how another company handles information, read that company's own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Friends list and online status: the game uses them while it is running and does not save them.
- Account ID and display name: a saved game keeps the account ID of each player who has played in it, so they get their character back when they return. It stays on the computer of the player who hosts, until that saved game is deleted.
- Problem reports: the copy on our report server is deleted after 60 days. When a report is attached to a bug we are tracking, we keep that copy with the bug's record, and delete it when you ask.
- Support emails: for as long as we need them to help you, and deleted when you ask.
Your choices
- Sending a problem report from the form is your choice, and so is the screenshot that goes with it.
- You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected].
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local privacy law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority. We will honour valid requests wherever you are.
Children
The game is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee it.
Changes to this policy
The game is in early development and this policy will change as the game does. When it changes, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
